FOR KIDS 5 AND OLDER - THERAPIST CREATED
Shrugs off every compliment. Believes every mean word. Let’s change that!
A video course and workbook that gives your child a real system for how they see themselves-from getting rid of the mean things they’ve heard, to standing up for themselves when it counts. Built by a licensed clinical social worker and child therapist, not a generic worksheet packet.
Sound Familiar? “That’s not true, you’re great at lots of things.”
-A compliment gets brushed off, like they didn’t even hear it.
-One offhand comment from a friend can undo a good week in seconds.
-”I’m not even good at anything” comes up more than you’d like-even when it isn’t true.
-Reassurance doesn’t seem to land, or gets an eye-roll instead.
-It’s not just what other people say. The way they talk to themselves is just as hard to listen to.
There's no single percentage that captures it, because every kid's self-esteem moves up and down — that's normal, not a warning sign. What matters is whether your child has real tools for the days it dips. This course is built to be exactly that.
Not More Worksheets.
A real system your child can carry into hard moments- not just today’s.
This course gives your child language for what self-esteem actually is, a way of getting rid of mean messages that stick, a technique for catching and challenging a negative thought, and - the part most self-esteem content skips - real practice standing up for themselves and encouraging others too. Every skill is practiced, not just explained.
The System Inside
Four stages. One plan your child actually keeps.
Know Your Worth
Your child learns what self-esteem actually is — then does the course's signature activity: writing down the mean things they've heard, and physically ripping them up.
Module 1Stand Up for Yourself
Five real strategies, rehearsed out loud, for the moment someone's unkind — so they're never standing there frozen.
Module 3Talk to Yourself Like You Mean It
The detective technique for catching and challenging a negative thought, plus affirmations your child picks themselves and carries with them.
Module 2Lift Others Up
Accepting a compliment without deflecting it, and making encouragement an actual daily habit — not a one-time ask.
Module 4Meet your Child’s Guide
Katie Peterson, LCSW
Licensed Clinical Social Worker & Child Therapist
Hi! I’m Katie a child therapist with over ten years of experience working with kids and families. My approach is warm, practical, and built on one belief: Kids need skills, not shame. This course is built the same way that I work in the therapy room-concrete, strengths-based, evidence-informed, and empowering.
What is Inside
Five short modules. Nothing that feels like more school.
What Is Self-Esteem
What it actually is, and the rip-it-up ritual that starts your child noticing their own real strengths.
Self-Talk
Find the Evidence — the detective technique for challenging a negative thought — plus affirmations and pocket cut-out cards.
When People Are Mean
Five rehearsed strategies, real phrases practiced out loud, and a square-breathing tool to stay calm in the moment.
Encouragement
Accepting a compliment, a Compliment Jar to keep filling, and Encouragement Bingo to make giving it a habit.
Wrap-Up
A before/after check-in your child takes twice, so you both see what changed — plus their certificate.
The Script Most Courses Skip

A Peek Inside the Course
Here’s What It Actually Sounds Like
Not a worksheet. Not a lecture.
"Now rip that page up."
"I mean it — rip it into the smallest pieces you can and throw them away. Those words don't get to live in your head rent-free anymore. You just proved that they don't define you — and now it's official."
"Stop. That's not okay."
"I practiced this so it would be ready before I needed it — not something I had to think up in the moment. I can say it calm, I can say it loud, and I don't have to explain myself after."
Find the Evidence.
"I got one answer wrong on my quiz."
"I got 19 other answers right, and I studied hard."
My Compliment Jar.
What Actually Changes
What You Will Notice By The End
- Mean comments — from a friend, or their own head — stick and start to feel true.
- They freeze when someone's unkind, because they don't know what to do.
- Compliments get deflected instead of accepted.
- "That's not true, you're great!" clearly isn't landing.
- Your child can recognize a mean message and use a real tool for it, instead of absorbing it.
- They have five rehearsed strategies for the moment someone's unkind — not frozen, not caught off guard.
- You have scripts for the hardest moments, ones that validate instead of argue.
- You can see the change, concretely, in their own before/after check-in.

What Parents are Saying
"My daughter was so nervous about volleyball tryouts, she almost backed out because she didn't believe in herself. We practiced the self-affirmation every morning and night — and I saw her confidence grow so much. She crushed tryouts, made the team, and kept saying how proud she is of herself."

One course. A plan your child keeps for every hard day that comes after this one.

Some of it, yes-especially the parent-only lessons and the pages built for a conversation. Most of the video lessons are made for your child to watch independently, at their own pace.

You don’t need to wait until the night before a major test.
In fact, learning and practicing the skills before anxiety is at its highest gives your child time to figure out which strategies work best for them.
You can also return to specific lessons before future tests whenever your child needs a refresher.

The course can be used as an educational resource alongside therapy. If your child is experiencing significant anxiety that is interfering with school, sleep, eating, relationships, or everyday functioning, consider talking with your child’s pediatrician or a qualified mental health professional about whether additional support is appropriate.
