What Parents are Saying

  • Self-Esteem Course

Our 7 year old son is neurodiverse and attended a behavior intervention preschool. One thing I have observed is that there is so much information available, and it can be overwhelming to digest and process. I also have noticed that tangible tools to help kids learn skills are hard to find.

We have found the self esteem course to be a wonderful resource. It is well thought out and comprehensive. The video modules are comfortable to watch and Katie makes you feel like you’re in her office with her. The workbook is full of age appropriate resources and tools that are playful and presented in an aesthetic and design style that is fun for kids. It is such a relief to have an evidence based program we can trust and use to help our child improve his self esteem. We don’t have to read a book, or research anything. We just sit together and work on the course one module at a time.

For us the key is that we do it together. He is capable of doing it on his own, but doing it together gives us an opportunity to talk about it. Because I know the tools a strategies he is learning, I can coach him to recall the tools when real life situations arise. We have been working through the course during small opportunities of time together. Like when we were on a road trip, while we wait for a sibling to do a sports practice, when we ate at home for the evening.

One example of how the skills are helping him is concerning his tendency to have all of nothing thinking and his struggle with catastrophizing. In the workbook he worked through writing out his negative thoughts. The act of crumpling up the paper of negative self talk and throwing it away was very empowering for him.  The course also includes amazing resources like a list of affirmations. When he is struggling to come up with his own, I can refer him back to the list which he can use to help him create his own personal affirmations.

  • Test Anxiety Course

I teach third grade (children ages 8-9) and I also happen to be the mother of two eight-year-olds. This course does exactly what it was designed to do by helping children in a way that is child centered. I love that it starts off by helping children realize they are not alone in feeling test anxiety. Katie has found a way to talk about anxiety while still being both comforting and encouraging. She explains what test anxiety is, what it looks like, how to prepare, what to do during a test, and what to do after. Every child is so different and therefore they each require different skills. Katie gives a wide variety of options so that there is a skill and preparation that every single child can use. I see test anxiety in my classroom every single year as well as in my home with my own children. To have this course available to use in my classroom, with my students, is extremely powerful. I think it would also greatly benefit parents and teachers to have this information as they go through the course with their children so they can know how to best support them. Taking tests can be very stressful because the students have a desire to do well. As teachers, we want to nurture that desire and help them really show what they know and not let anxiety negatively influence their learning. This course is a fantastic resource and I am looking forward to using it regularly in both my classroom and at home.

  • Friendship Course

My daughter and I are loving Katie’s friendship course! Navigating friendships can be tricky! We have loved the skills provided, the fun activities and conversations we have had while going through this course!

  • Self-Esteem Course

Our 8 year old has been able to use the reflection sections to really open up about his thoughts and feelings. We are very grateful to have this resource to help him build skills that allow him to feel confident and to thrive. It is beautiful to experience this with him and watch him gain confidence and grow in self love and acceptance. We highly recommend this course.
